Banshee 0.11.6 Released

Early this morning, the Banshee team released what will be the final release in the 0.11.x series: Banshee 0.11.6.

This latest release brings a few small, but lovely add-ons to existing features.

BANSHEE 0.11.6

 * Banshee is a music management and playback application for GNOME.

   "Import, organize, play, and share your music using Banshee's simple,
    powerful interface. Rip CDs, play and sync your iPod, create playlists,
    and burn audio CDs. Most portable music devices are supported. Banshee
    also has support for podcasting, smart playlists, music recommendations,
    and much more."

   banshee-official-plugins is now obsolete
 * libipoddevice (0.5.2) and ipod-sharp (0.6.2) are required for iPod support

Cool New Features

 * Radio stations can now be added/edited/removed from the radio plugin;
   additionally the remote stations can be easily and optionally disabled

 * Usability and interface updates to the podcast plugin

 * Audio profiles can now be translated; a number of UI improvements and
   simplifications were made to the profiles as well

 * Updated the volume button to behave like Totem/GNOME's (Bacon)

 * New Slovenian translation by Matej Urban?i?

 * Updated translations: Czech (Jakub Friedl), Norwegian bokm?l (Kjartan
   Maraas), Polish (Artur Flinta), Russian (Alexandre Prokoudine),
   Swedish (Daniel Nylander)

 * UI style updates for the main interface; more improvements in the
   track list column headers

 * Updated internal daap-sharp version to fix problems with track numbers
   not showing up (James Willcox)

For all the Awesome Banshee Developers

 * With this release (0.11.6), the 0.11.x series is now string frozen

 * Moved to GNOME Subversion

 * Project layout has been almost completely reorganized

 * All of Banshee can now be built and run from MonoDevelop
