Will Writely Offer a Viable Alternative?

After reading another very interesting post on the subject, courtesy of Kevin Kubasik, I decided I absolutely had to try it for myself.

I think Writely (aka Google Docs) is just the bees’ knees; having an alternate way to store and collaboratively manage documents is indeniably crucial.

So how did Writely perform?

It seems to support the Movable Type API very well. Keyboard shortcuts and general usability in the user interface were outstanding, as usual. It also, like Kevin stated, supported categories well – something no other editor has yet managed to do for me (except for WordPress’ built-in editor, of course).

I’m going to continue using Writely throughout the next week or two before reaching a final verdict.

Update: As you can all see, there is, apparently, no post title or category. I’m not sure why. The document was titled and labeled as per the instructions by Google, but no go. =/ Shame.
